DORKING  WANDERERS  V  SLOUGH  TOWN

Early doors and plenty of “Exocet “ passes hoping to findspace to shut down someone not too confident, in possession.  Both teams – GUILTY !

First shot on goal, free kick by Lench safely gathered by Huk in Dorking’s goal. Slough looking confident, but playing with a very square back line. A McShane through ball and Jack Barham shows not only a clean pair of heels but a clean finish. 1 – 0  Dorking on 12 minutes.

A mere 90 seconds later, an uncleared ball was returned with interest into the top corner by Dan Roberts. 1 a piece.

Twenty minutes and a glaring miss by Slough’s Harris after a delightful 4 man move. One thing in football “Play to the Whistle”, Slough guilty and paid a price as Dorking’s Muitt puts his own re bound into the net. 2 – 1  Dorking. The heavens have opened, Dorking playing with a heavy breeze behind them, looking to further their lead – for what could be a heart and leg sapping second half.

Two further close efforts from Dorking, before the interval but the score stays the same.

HALF  TIME  DORKING WANDERERS  2  SLOUGH  TOWN  1

SECOND  HALF

Welcome to the sunshine !

Dorking’s keeper Huk wearing pink, now turned red ! just to say a bad error. Let’s Robert’s speculative shot go under his body.  2 a piece.

Slough’s supporters in great voice. Dorking break,  but move abruptly stopped causing Slough’s Hodges to bedismissed -complaining about the free kick given. Then Dorking fell behind to ten man Slough, from a long throw, flicked on and Roberts put the visitors 3  –  2  in front. Now Dorking have to prise open a stern looking Slough outfit. The introduction of Prior brings a classy finish, to equalise on 71 minutes. 3 each.

The Dorking crowd smiling of the prospect of gaining victory, were taken aback when a hopeful delivery into Dorking’s box, to watch Harris out jump everyone to put Slough back in front. Similar was to follow, yet again – to watch Harris nod number 5.  (Must be a LEAP  YEAR )

There was a song called “ There are more questions, than answers” Slough had the answers, Dorking pondering the questions.

GREAT  GAME !
