THE ‘ BRIGG’S MATT HEIST ‘ Looking forward to this one, but please take note I tend to think I am un-bias but it doesn’t appear every-one is the same.

Ebbsfleet fielding a couple of player’s back from injury-hmm is it a mistake ? We start off with Ebbsfleet showing a ‘gung ho ‘ style of play and Dorking on the back foot.2 min’s in and Romain find’s himself in a two on one situation and the decision to pass wasn’t the correct one. 120 sec’s pass and Dorking skipper Fuller clear’s two shots off the line firstly Poleon, then the follow up from Egan.

Dorking wiping not only there forehead’s, manage to venture into Ebbsfleet half and when Kahraman find’s it difficult to get into a rhythm with Fogden a trip was the only out-come ,f/k and a booking all this on 6 min’s. The game was very lively and with Egan covering more ground than marathon man Kipchoge, which way was this one going to go. Well the clue is in the title ,Briggs starts a fleeting jink across the park evading 3 challenges until he reaches Mr Kahraman on 16mins,there is one trip too many and Ebbsfleet down to ten men for a 2nd bookable’ On 32 mins. Brigg’s gather’s the ball on the half-way line ,forward Romain get’s himself wrong side to make an effective challenge, and this allows Brigg’s to home in on the returning Finney ,defender backs off finds himself leaving a lot of space for a clear shot into Ebbsfleet right hand post to give Dorking a 1-0 lead. With the visitor’s down to ten men the last 10 mins of the half was to keep it at that score line ,and they did. Surely the 2nd half would all be about using your ‘nous’ we shall see.

During my cup of tea time ,general chit chat was when referee Richardson was going to even thing’s up .He allowed a Harris handball to go un-booked even a sending off !! But I will mention for the ladies at the game ‘,Dorking’. please sort the toilets out for guests and home supporter’s ,they need improving.

2nd half awaits ,will we see Ebbsfleet consolidate and hopefully get a set piece. Well as being outnumbered they were out manoeuvred ,Ebbsfleet certainly didn’t lay down and picking up a few knocks on the way meant a few changes in personnel-it all went a bit ‘Pete Tong ‘. Briggs on 52mins set off and got a free kick from a late challenge from the otherwise impressive Tanner. The thing is ,don’t make people angry when there is no reason on 55 mins Briggs homes in again and the fierce shot isn’t taken cleanly by keeper Haigh ,and the bounces clear and I can tell you now Fogden doesn’t miss from 2 foot,2-0 Dorking .We await another 6 minutes before the Chuckle Bros perform ,Ebbsfleet backing off ,find themselves outnumbered and its a case of ‘you to me ,me to you ‘Briggs thumps home its Dorking 3 Ebbsfleet 0.It was hard work for the visitors and with a few wounded players the whistle would have not been a bad call. Still not every day is ‘sunshine and roses’ and that man Briggs fires in number 4.Credit to Ebbsfleet they come forward ,gain a free kick-surprise, surprise is the reaction from the Ebbsfleet faithful .Sub Martin crosses and a looping header from Mekki brings it back to 4-1.This on 80 mins but all is not over, the bad day gets worst, closing in on home time Dorking quiet man Rutherford notches number 5 to finish off with the home crowd singing can we play you every week .Trust me not a good idea a word ‘ Schadenfreude’ comes to mind. A great victory today, but the battle now begins .final score
