7TH SEPTEMBER 2021 FA CUP 1ST QUALIFYING ROUND REPLAY

Unable to attend the first meeting of these two sides, the general consensus was Broadfield stronger in the 1st half and South Park in the second so who wants the challenge of Hastings in the next round .An interesting point is that Broadfield play on a astro surface and this pitch looks like it needs a pair of shears taken to it ,never mind here we go.

First few minutes a decent slip ball in between the centre pairing saw South Parks Jelloh make chase ,however the visiting goalkeeper-Lincoln Victor De Oliveira Marques ( he will now be called number 1) was in the same place same time-WALLOP, both men recovered. Two more chances fell to Jelloh but no real scare for the visitors. Broadfields full back Blennerhasset then got on top of his game and generally stuffed out the threat -lessons learnt !! Broadfields started to pressurise the officials with decision making ,and got a reward when the full back got a nudge in the back ,play continued the cross was not dealt with and 1-0 the visitors, happy days for Smith .Complaints groaned around the pitch ,but play to the whistle !! South Park very much put out and took a while to get going and their ball retention became quite pretty poor HT South Park 0 Broadfields Utd 1

Referee Nunnes appeared to be generous with an handball decision and pointed to the spot. Up steps Aziz fires to the left, No 1 dives to his left ,result 1 -1. Surely the game will fire up and indeed it did ,tackles reasonably honest some not .Both sides guilty, South Park seemed in control but a determined Broadfield were not going to submit they held the back line high and smothered any real danger.

On a rare attacking move they created space for a cross to be sent in low and hard, this met the boot of South Parks Tyler Brown steering past keeper Mickley an OG to make it 2-1 the visitors .A couple of changes were made by Park but the stage appeared to have been set ,Broadfields continued their delaying and injury practices ,soaking up time and not allowing South Park the time to get into a rhythm ,any advancement towards No 1s goal was returned with interest and chased down by their eager forwards .To me South Park didnt or wasnt allowed to show the same desire .In the battle to play Hastings. Maybe a case of WHO CARES THE MOST WINS. The home side wasnt necessarily outplayed more of OUT THOUGHT.
