The visitor’s struggling to get on a winning streak ,and some honest supporter’s-hello to Tom & Jerry !! and a few other’s tell me recent transfer’s should get them back on track. Dorking cannot seem to block their goal ,and no matter what local magazine’s say about it,it turn’s out to be a ‘ISSUE’ that needs to be addressed. So in short both sides need the 3 pts today. First couple of minutes Solihull hit the ball out to the line and new signing gets ‘Beck’-up and he plays nice simple football and brings his new team-mates into the show.7 mins and a half volley that was fit for the telly from Josh Kelly, local support a were little bewildered because apart from a Ottaway effort to the keeper’s left hand post ,Solihull were rocking proceeding’s and on 10 mins went in front from a corner and we believe Callum Howe has a little nod to notch the ball over the line 1-0 the visitors. A lot of football matches are won in the midfield ,sadly Dorking at this stage don’t possess one so this allows the ‘Bartlett ‘show to start. Good forcing runs ,and creating havoc at will ( in front of me Tom & Jerry were deciding which one has the cream) this brings a f/k on 21mins and the shot is saved by Lincoln, who lets loose a tremendous throw, this creates a chance for Seager who shoots wide. Solihull look very assured and all of Dorking’s probing never really caused any alarm bell’s.40 mins and using their newly found height advantage Solihull’s Howe was wide with an effort. Only 90 secs later a jinking run that looked like going thru gates of ‘south fork range ‘was abruptly bought to an end – Cook straight red ,Dorking down to 10. Up steps ‘Dallas’ and gates are closed as Lincoln saves. Their is the need for a reshuffle and Philpott replaces Seager Dorking under pressure as Kelly goes past 3 players sets up a shot which Lincoln keeps out-but for the keeper ,a few more goals wouldn’t have been a harsh score-line. Muitt on for Moore, attack from the off and a glaring miss by Ottaway on 46 mins-a little ‘OTT’ from me there it was more of a surprising amount of space that was a shock !! Ball straight up the other end and Kelly strutting he’s stuff but finally shut down.50 mins and a good strong tackle in the middle of the park by Fuller gained yet another booking for Dorking, but this one probably for verbal. Even the crowd were sitting still as the chances of being booked were increasing by the minute, and son of’ Durkin’ was certainly proving that there was lead in his pencil, as the chants were suggesting-you got to laugh.62 mins and Philpott gets he’s name taken as he take’s some-ones legs away-this time Dallas convert’s the penalty 2-0 Solihull.
Dorking continue to chase and hound down, but with the signings and present line-up Solihull had a touch of class present, then they load up with – back from injury ‘Joe Sbarra’ who make’s 3-0 on 75mins it’s a bad day for Dorking .but the crowd have seen a funny side to things as more bookings are being taken, i think we have -1 sent off,7 booked inc the manager. This was a result that could have been heavier but for ‘ Lincoln’.
Watching a well drilled team is very easy on the eye ,but Dorking run to the last minute and show great commitment, but if you decide to have ‘Fish n chip’s don’t ask for a gherkin, its already booked’
