NATIONAL LEAGUE 4TH SEPTEMBER 2022/23
Do I start this report about a game of football or a fact of life? Like life lessons get taught and hopefully learnt from. Anyone who has played sport would have been on the end or been part of a result that you are unable to do much about, and you take it on the chin and fight another day. Today sadly Dorking was a recipient of such result.
2730 PEOPLE IN THE RESTAURANT AND THIS IS DEFINITE;LY FOOD FOR THOUGHT WITH DANGER ON THE MENU.
Wrexham possessed a good kitchen and waiter staff which helped them run a smooth operation, providing Ollie Palmer alias Mr Menace and Jacob “Sweet left peg” Mendy with all the ingredients needed.
Dorking being made to look like they had lost their GPS. 20 minutes Mendy delivers a great cross into Palmer at the far post who nods home with competent ease. 1-0 the visitors. 23 minutes Dorking’s Gallagher blocks a shot but Mendy is awaiting to strike a shot that even the net done well to save. 2-0 Wrexham.
The sweet now arrives on the table on 35 minutes after Dorking’s goalkeeper Huk saves the shot turning it away for a corner. That delivery turns into another corner which Hayden meets with a neat header and is tapped home by Ollie Palmer. 3-0 Wrexham.
Dorking look like they need more than winding as they trot off at half-time with a heavy deficit.
Second Half
Sadly much of the same as we now move into the music hall and Dorking are finding it difficult even to force a gentleman’s excuse me. 50 minutes – Palmer must like the music as his tapping feet secure another goal to put Wrexham 4-0 up. They were performing with precision and kept a nice and clean ensemble. 76 minutes they own the dance floor and there is no water drought as there is another tap in by Elliot Lee to make it 5-0. I have actually noticed a Welsh police presence who have travelled with the Wrexham crowd and can only assume it must be in the case of Dorking stealing something from the encounter.
There can be no argument about the result, a wonderful performance from the visitors but I’m sure Dorking will bounce back. Final result – Dorking Wanderers 0 Wrexham 5
